GUIDETURER
Bjärehalvön - Breathtaking wives
The Bjäre Peninsula by bus
They say it takes a lifetime to discover everything the beautiful Bjäre Peninsula has to offer. Here you get the chance to enjoy some of the most magnificent views. Let us start in Båstad and continue along the famous coastline where Richard Gere, swimming at dusk with Swedish girlfriend was immortalized by a photographer seizing the moment.
Via the tiny harbor of Kattvik we will go to Hovs Hallar. The strangely shaped rocks, the shingle beaches and the constant rhythm of the sea fascinate visitors. There is a certain sense of proximity to the game of chess between The Knight and Death in Ingmar Bergman’s classic “The Seventh Seal”, filmed here in the 1950s. On our way to Torekov we might spot Hallands Väderö, a nearby island and nature reserve. In Torekov we will walk through winding alleys and visit the Maritime Museum, the Pilot Look-out Station and the Shed. Going back to Båstad we will stop at Västra Karup’s church and cemetery, final resting-place for Birgit Nilsson, beloved international soprano. Finally we will pass Båstad Golf Course and drive along a scenic road, offering more vistas including the verdant Ridge of Halland and the elegant curve of the bay at its foot.
