In 2017 Hovs hallar, a fascinating rocky area in Southern Sweden, was presented with a rare award, Treasure of European Film Culture, previously given to only nine other sites with a strong connection to the history of film. This is where Swedish Film director Ingmar Bergman made some of his most iconic film scenes in legenadary “The Seventh Seal”. If the weather conditions are just right we can reach the actual spot where the the first meeting between Death and the Knight and their world famous game of chess took place. The location has attracted other film directors as well, for instance Jan Troell when making “Flight of the Eagle, best foreign film Oscar nominee in 1982.
