Ingmar Bergman’s Helsingborg guided walk
There is a strong connection between legendary film director Ingmar Bergman and Helsingborg. He became Sweden’s youngest theatre manager when he took up this post at the Helsingborg City Theatre, then on the verge of being closed down. In 1944 – 1946 he worked at a fevered pace, changing the tide for the doomed theatre. Bergman’s summers were filled with film projects. In the 1950s he returned to this area when making “A Lesson in Love” and “To Joy”. The latter is filmed and set near and in Helsingborg. There are locations in Ramlösa and Pålsjö skog, as well as Strandpromenaden and city landmarks such as Kärnan, the City Hall, Tycho Brahe-platsen and so on.
Curious about Bergman’s Helsingborg? Join a film walk together with guide Ingrid Persson Skog. The walk starts in Ingmar Bergmans plats, Bruksgatan 30 and ends in Strandpromenaden.
